Default Heroes ascent

The biggest thing i have always wanted to do is win in the hall of heroes, but that now-a-days is impossible it used to be a lot easier when GW first came out but now everyones in the international districts and they only want certain builds and certain ranks. Why cant everyone just play the game and enjoy it?

because Heroe's Ascent has gotten much more advanced obviously since it's been out. People have become much more competitive. Ppl don't just run certain builds for no reason or ask for certain ranks. it has purpose to it. Why are some builds more recurring in halls then others? Its because they work. Its common sense. I'm sorry its like life, you just need to accept it, or start your own group the way you want to.

HA hasn't changed much at all .. people were forming groups in ID 2 years ago. Don't fault people for wanting to win .. you want to win as well. If that wasn't the case you would be able to get that pvp fix in RA. If you want rank then find 7 friends and do HA every day. Rank is not a right it is something that has to be earned. Those with it wanted it enough to keep going till they got it .. why should it be different for you.

Every one of those groups that inspired you to post here is made of people that started with ZERO fame just like you. They all earned it the same way. Funny how many times this topic comes up on guru.

Everyone wants to win HoH, so wouldn't it make sense that they're looking for "skilled" players and specific builds to make a team that has a chance of winning?

Why not make the effort to win then? Get your rank up, learn some meta builds, and you'll make it into the high ranks eventually.

Much easier to skip to hoh now, but harder to fluke win because of these new objectives. Just plug away at it. Eventually you'll face a bad team in hoh 1v1 and your dreams will come true.

Wrong forum section. And wrong arguments. And...those who win HoH today DO have fun and probably can run whatever they like...because when there is a lot of skilled players, they can run randomway and win. Meh...I'll leave more detailed explanation to elektra :P

well, like someone suggested they have good reason to run certain build.

Its not fun to run randomway and get beaten in underworld.

Unlike most of pve and random arena HA dont forgive build error.

Plus is much easier win HA now then ever.

Join in some iway during dead hour and you are likely going to get to HA.

They use International Districts because American was flooded with scrubs.
They use rank requirement, because they learned how to play and decided they didn't want bad players.
They were all low rank once, had to suffer through bad teams to get rank (unless they had all guildies), so you probably should too.

How is it impossible? Just get a load of nubs with a gimmick build fame farming during dead hours. Win in underworld then get halls skip, gj.

I know the secret how to win the halls, and increase your rank.

Just go to HA and do it. Join groups of unranked players, learn different team builds, and just have fun.

The first thing you'll notice is that your friends list will start growing. When this happens, play with the same people often. Like any sport, once you become comfortable with each other, you will see your fame increase, and you may even hold the halls.

Now you know the secret, we all expect to see:

"mikeys team has won the hall of heroes"

Get in a HA guild, use TS/Vent, get a pr0 build, practice it, and win HoH. Thats all tbh.

I'm pretty much in the same case as the OP, I want to get into PvP but I've got some restrictions... actually one.

I don't want to leave my guild or alliance. We're PvE yes, but I know if I don't get into another game mode (namely PvP) I'll eventually get bored of GW. For 2 years I played PvE almost exclusively - GvG destroyed PvP for me when I started.

I had a couple runs with my previous guild, but they kept testing stuff and in the end, I never ran a stable build except the age-old N/E Wither Warder. Is there a way I can have quick access to those builds (I'm guessing Wiki but people seem to have something against Wiki builds in general).

Note that I'm not a "noob" so to speak (I'm "new" at PvP yes, but after 2 years of playing regularly, one would think I can run builds with some practice), but I've never been fond of people calling me "noob" every 5 seconds because I'm asking questions before heading into there... which I've done before and got my arse handed back to myself within minutes.

Not wanting leave your guild pretty much restrict you to HA and random arena.

And playing HA with a pve guild is not the best idea.

There isnt many thing you can do about it

Yeah, HA's what I would be doing, since GvG isn't my stuff at all.

I don't want to play it seriously really, my goal isn't to get to r12. It'd something I'd do beside PvE... pretty much the opposite of someone who does HA most of the time and then go to PvE to do other stuff.

I think I understand part of the OP problem, it is much harder now to build up rank when the teams competing are r6-12. Not saying that it can't be done, just that it takes a lot more effort than before.

Also I, like many others, would love to win HoH just once, not dominate it for a month or battle every day to raise my rank up. The odds of a rank 0 team winning HoH is very very very small, and maybe it should be. Still for those of us that are PvE players, that have watched guilds and players names scroll up our screen every time somebody wins the HoH the idea of having our name scroll up there, just once, is very tempting.

If all of those people who do HA regulary now, but not 2 years ago, would see how much we used to struggle to get fame...it's sad...

Underworld? Ok 1v1.
Burial Mounds? 6v6. You would lose more than 18% of the time.
Brokener Tower ( pun intended ) 3v3 and skill doesn't mean you won.

etc etc.

1 fame runs where the way of the average HA'er to do runs. Offcourse, once you had a good group, it was easier to get consecutives in HoH.
